A Canadian Adventure, drawing to a close

#73 Be in two places at one time

#87 Visit Niagara Falls

#97 Travel across a Canadian border

Thursday 7th April i departed Golden, BC bound for Toronto, ON.
Was sad to leave but excited and ready for all the new adventures that laid ahead.

Toronto welcomed me with a huge lake, big city, traffic and a whole bunch of people. A change from the quiet mountain town of Golden. But it was nice.

Wandered around the city for a few hours, then headed to Niagara Falls. Here i met Crystal [a friend from Sunwapta] who gave me a brief tour of the small but 'Vegas like' town.

Caught up with Nic and Dave at the hotel and was blown away by the amazing view we had from the 40th floor window - overlooking the falls, USA and most of Niagara. It was awesome!

That evening we headed to Applebees for a bite to eat and a long overdue catch up.

A nice stroll afterwards, checking out the falls and back to the room for a dose of Criminal Minds.

Next day we rose early to the site of an amazing sunrise over the USA and falls.Headed out to check out the falls in daylight. Got a bit wet in the process, the amount of water was incredible. Quick stop at Timmy's for timbits and hot chocolate, a wander around the Niagara strip, then headed to the outlet shops. Pretty cruisy there, not too big. But brought a new jacket type thing.

Late afternoon we headed back to the hotel and just hung out. Read our books, had a nap, caught up on some tv. While taking in the view outside!
Catch up with Crystal and Jon that evening which was nice, snack at the Rainforest Cafe. Was great hanging out!

Early morning departed Niagara and headed to Kitchener where i stayed with Jackie [friend from Sunwapta] for a night. Was so great seeing her, meeting her family and hanging out. Went for a morning run which was nice, watched some criminal minds, and Little Fockers. Also had a birthday dinner for her that night.

Monday afternoon i headed to Waterloo and hung out with Kathryn [an old middle school friend]. Wandered around the park, played some pool and went for coffee/smoothies. Was great fun. So random that we saw each other though - after so long!

Kathryn drove me back to Mississauga where Nic and Dave had been staying [with Dave's family]. Spent the evening here and then left really early the next day bound for New York.

It was a long drive to NYC but so worth it. Got a little worried at the border when they kept asking me questions, but made it through.

Arrived at about 4pm with a few stops made along the way, Tim Hortons, Target, and to fill up with gas.

As for my adventure in New York, that's another story....
